About Rose Place Properties

Live in a landmark location! Rose Place Historic District is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. Nestled inside this district ~ Rose Place Properties ~ is a one-of-a-kind, urban living community of classic dwellings on two charming brick-lined court streets.

Locally owned and engineered for nearly three decades, this urban renewal project has transformed this cityscape. Through urban restoration, historic preservation, energy–efficient upgrades, and landscape design, our contiguous properties provide an ideal setting for you to call home.

Our Rose Place Properties logo, an interlocking “rosette” inlay of recycled brick street pavers found throughout the properties, symbolizes our mission: building a more sustainable community by connecting neighbors to our local heritage and preserving historic architecture while integrating a natural environment.

Our landscape design includes private backyards and a common green space with outdoor kitchen, organic vegetable gardens, perennial flowers, pollinator-friendly native plantings, and composting stations. Historic lamp posts illuminate the brick streetscape enhancement project on Rose Place.

Walkable and bikable to El Sol Elementary School, Bank Street Farmers Market, WMU Homer Stryker School of Medicine, Bronson Hospital, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, and cultural institutions such as Kalamazoo Public Library, The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, The Kalamazoo Valley Museum, Chenery Auditorium, The State Theatre, The Epic Center for the Arts, and the Civic Theatre, just to name a handful of our local treasures.

As you scroll through these pages you’ll find built-to-last old world charm in this distinctive living community.
